Actions of the All Black Haka
Ka Mate > Maori songs > home

These are some 1960s diagrams that I have modified to fit this All Blacks MP3 here. Since 1999, the All Blacks have been slapping their chests, not their thighs, and they omit some of the syllables to get a tighter rhythm. Remember to shout the words, stomp your feet, grimace, bulge your eyes, stick out your tongue. You are showing people your self confidence and courage, and pride in your ancestors.

"Whiti te Ra! ... HI!" (Shining is the Sun! ...YEAH!) comes out as - Whiti te HI! (Shining is the YEAH!) when the All Blacks do it on this MP3.

You might try this -
WHIti te (crouch) ...Ra! (stand arms up) HI! (Leap)
